(Left)  This 1856 Map by G.W. Colton, authorized by  Congress 1854,
is in the David Rumsey collection and available online.  I was able to locate many
maps in private collections bearing the same information and placing the
Southwestern boundary of Lafayette Parish well into Township 11 South,
Range 3 East.  This is also noted on the General Land Office Map Below
produced from 1865 to 1879.  I was able to find the 1879 GLO Map online
at the Alabama State Geolocial Society.
In both cases, I entered my search into the google search window to
tto locate each map.  As luck would have it, someone had collected these maps and
    made them available online.
