The Dr. Tommy Comeaux Memorial Fund
for an Endowed Chair in Traditional Music at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Louisiana
"Dr. Tommy Comeaux (1952 - 1997) was driven by twin passions for   music and   medicine, pursuits fueled by his wide ranging talents. In both arenas, he was known for his warm spirit and willingness to play supporting roles, often letting others have the spotlight....
Dr. Comeaux was the Pathology Department Head for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and received numerous professional awards.....
As a musician Tommy was accomplished on guitar, dobro, mandolin and bass and received four Grammy Award nominations as a member of Beausoleil"

It is in Tommy's  Memory, that family, friends, collegues and fellow musicians launched the effort in 1997 to create an endowed chair in Traditional Music at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Louisiana.
